Smoky Hill Announces New Hires

SALINA, Kan.—Smoky Hill Education Service Center, 605 E Crawford, has announced the hiring of four new people, Jillian Brown of Hillsboro, for the position of Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator, Lucila Corley of Salina, for the position of ESL Paraprofessional, Sean McDonald, Wichita, for the position of Technology Specialist, and Linda Ireton as Consultant.
Brown is a 2007 graduate of Tabor College, Hillsboro Kan. Earning degrees in both Business Administration-Marketing, and Organizational Communications. In her new position, Brown will assume marketing and public relations efforts for the company as well as oversee newsletter publications.
Corley previously worked as Editor for Lavoz of Salina, a Spanish newspaper, as well as Salina Regional Hospital. In her new position, Corley will be using her bilingual skills in assisting with ESL teaching.
McDonald is a 1995 graduate of Cloud County Community College, where he earned an Associate of Science. He further studied Computer Science and Engineering at Fort Hays State University. In his new position, McDonald will be working with technology services as well as being a network consultant.
Ireton has earned a BA in English with a minor in Psychology and Sociology. In addition, she has a graduate degree in TESOL (Teachers of English to Students of Other Languages) and thiry additional graduate hours in the fields of Education and English as a second language. Ireton was previously employed with the Schwan Food Company as an instructor in the training department. In her new position Ireton will be facilitating the High School Degree Program at Smoky Hill Learning Center, developing new programs including English as a Second Language Program and an American Citizenship Program, and acting as a consultant for the Smoky Hill Education Service Center.
